A full class showed up after I switched to a more old-fashioned, manual registration process, and it was wonderful to see so many people interested in and joining the workshop. This was the second woodblock workshop hosted at Branscombe House. Based on feedback from the first session, I upgraded some of the tools and materials. This time, we didn’t run into the same issues, such as the carving surface being too hard or the tools becoming dull too quickly. The idea behind this workshop is not to promote a printmaking tradition. Instead, I wanted to share my approach to and understanding of this type of printing. Since it brings together several printmaking methods, techniques, and traditions, and given the materials I use, I’ll call this technique Watercolour Woodblock Print from now on. See you all at the next workshop in October.
