Watercolour Woodblock Print Workshop – October 25, 2026

This was the final session of my Watercolour Woodblock Printmaking workshop at Branscombe House last Sunday. What I enjoyed most was seeing what participants brought to the experience. Everyone drew on their own culture, memories, and ways of seeing. The final session also gave us an opportunity to explore new ideas and materials as a group, which proved more successful than I had expected.

I have spent the past two years developing this technique. It is a gradual process of testing, refining, and beginning again, much of which takes place alone in the studio. Teaching the technique allows me to assess whether it works for others. This workshop confirmed that it does. Participants learned it quickly and then adapted it in their own ways. Thank you to everyone who attended for your curiosity and patience as we worked with the water and paper. I hope to bring the workshop to new spaces and communities soon.
